60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc. Ripe, expressive, dry fruit. Tannins that sneak up on the finish. Lovely development of flavour, but the palate is a bit angular. (RH)

Spicy, relatively opulent for an early 21st century vintage! Is the nose quite fresh enough? Pretty austere on the finish. Correct but not welcoming. (JR)

This appears to be an attractive, elegant, strong effort from Tertre-Daugay. The wine shows deep, sweet, herb-tinged black cherry and currant fruit intermixed with some spice box and fruitcake. It is elegant, medium-bodied, sweet, and ideal for drinking during its first 7-8 years of life.

Slightly loosely knit, but attractive berry and chocolate character. Medium body, soft tannins. Best after 2007. 5,415 cases made. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2004
