Score 87/100 · Drink 2017-2024, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Jun 2017

Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Poujeaux has an attractive bouquet with more fruité than I was anticipating: red cherries, kirsch and touches of mulberry, hung game and sandalwood following through later. The palate is medium-bodied with soft tannin. It feels a little simplistic, although I like the clove and dried herbs towards the rustic finish. Drink now and over the next 5-6 years. Tasted February 2017.

Browning garnet. Lots of mature aromas of undergrowth and earthy brown mushrooms. Pretty dry and charmless on the palate. Quite chewy but fresh enough. (JH)

Round and juicy with lots of charm. Quite long but a bit spindly. (JR)

Fragrant dark fruit with a touch of spice and liquorice. Dry and well structured but with enough fruit to fill the framework. (JH)
