The 2018 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru has a lot of volatility on the nose obscuring the terroir. Likewise, the palate is marred by some dead fruit on the entry, modest depth, but it is frayed on the finish with again, some volatile notes. I am not convinced this is a correct bottle and shall defer judgement. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.

Revisited in bottle, the 2018 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) is performing superbly, bursting with aromas of plums, red berries, rose petals, orange rind and spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, with beautifully refined tannins, lively acids and a bright, mineral finish, it's an especially elegant example of both this emblematic Jadot cuvée and of the vintage.
The 2018 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru has a very composed, detailed bouquet of blackberry, wild strawberry and pressed rose petal aromas, the most elegant of the three Cortons 2018s from Jadot. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins and wonderful acidity. Very harmonious, with an almost luxurious but compelling finish. Superb.

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
