2023 Domaine Blain-Gagnard Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru

Curiously neutral on the nose. Like being given a white marble box instead of a glass of wine. Pretty uncompromising and chiselled, although there are flecks of gold running through that marble exterior, and hints of quince and persimmon inside. The oak is very subtle – saffron and angelica, rather than cedar. In waiting. (TC)
