(from 8 different vineyards the most important of which is Aux Ormes). Reduction presently masks the underlying fruit though there is very good freshness to the delicious and richer medium weight flavors that possess a velvety texture on the saline-inflected finish that delivers fine length. This will need to add depth to merit the upper end of my projected range. (88-91)/2026+

The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Village was quite closed at first when I tasted it from barrel, opening gradually to show crushed strawberry and morello cherries and touches of pressed violet. The palate is medium-bodied with plump tannins on the entry, mulberry and wild strawberry fruit flavors, and a touch of black olive toward the saline finish. Compact at the moment, it will require 3–4 years in bottle. Very fine.
