The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Aux Beaux Bruns opens in the glass with aromas of cherries, sweet berries, licorice and plums, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered palate that's unusually tightly wound for a young Beaux Bruns, exhibiting good tension and concluding with a mineral finish.

Cask sample. Deep crimson. Aromatic. Bitter-cherry palate entry and very juicy fruit indeed. Quite a triumph! No prices yet for Barthod wines but this is really good! And more approachable than some of Barthod's wines. (JR)
The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Aux Beaux Bruns 1er Cru, which sees just a little new oak, has a fragrant, floral bouquet with wilted rose petals infusing the vibrant red fruit. Excellent delineation here, very elegant. The palate has a little more grip than the Chatelots, more salinity, particularly on the finish that displays a hint of black olive. Very fine.
