Full bottle 1,573 g. 45% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay. As usual for this house that proclaims ‘Maison Fondée en 1985', there is a mass of information on the back label. Based on 2019 with 35% reserve wines. Dosage 4 g/l.  You can sense the ripeness of Champagne’s grapes nowadays. Despite the low dosage, this wine tastes almost sweet! Very throat-warming on the finish as a result. Pleasing but not especially distinctive. (JR)

The NV Thienot Champagne Brut tastes like a baby Krug with its rich, nutty, powerful style. Ample apple and citrus fruits as well as a touch of minerality develop with time in the glass, and it’s medium to full-bodied, has a awesome texture, and a great finish. This cuvée is 45% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, and the balance Pinot Meunier, mostly from Grand Cru sites, and it was brought up all in stainless steel. The dosage is 9 grams per liter.

Cool steely lemon nose. Quite sharp and brisk and lemony. No-nonsense champagne. Definitely an appetite-whetter rather than a food wine. (TC)

Sweet, perfumed, brisk and tight-knit but still a little too sweet for me. Well-intentioned. (JR)
