Myriad Cellars’ 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa displays attractive blueberry fruit intermixed with hints of raspberries and spring flowers, crisp acidity, a fresh, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, lots of energy and vigor, and impressive purity. It can be drunk now or cellared for a decade. Tel. (707) 287-1630

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is a gorgeous entry-level offering laced with expressive dark red fruit. Sweet, spiced notes give the 2010 its striking inner perfume. This is a fairly soft, approachable wine for the year that will drink well pretty much upon release. It is a great choice for restaurants, where its polish and early accessibility are sure to be prized.

Myriad’s 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District is surprisingly open for a wine from this part of Napa Valley. I just don’t see enough energy or textural depth to suggest the wine will improve materially from here. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. Mike and Leah Smith’s Myriad Cellars is an up and coming winery worth keeping an eye on. Mike Smith also makes the wines at Carter. I have every reason to think he will establish the same level of quality here. Tel. (707) 287-1630
