Score 88/100 · Drink 2007-2011, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2004

The light to medium-bodied 2002 Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d’Orveaux offers violet and blackberry fruit in its aromas as well as flavors. While this wine has excellent depth and an appealing, generous attack, it, too, suffers from an overly firm finish. Drink it between 2007 and 2011. Medium-deep red. Slightly peppery aromas of black raspberry and violet. Pure but tightly wound and difficult to judge today. A bit peppery in the mouth, and firmly tannic, even a tad dry, on the back end.
