Good full red. High-toned, spicy aromas of maraschino cherry, raspberry, wild herbs, mint and menthol. Sweet, dense and sappy, but in a distinctly muscular style. A bit medicinal on the firmly tannic finish.

The finest of the Dujac’s negociant wines in this vintage is their 2002 Chambolle-Musigny (DFP). Its fresh blueberry, blackberry, and dark cherry aromas lead to a medium-bodied, flavorful personality. Pure, juicy, and fleshy, it coats the palate with plums, flowers, and spices. This refined yet highly expressive wine should be consumed over the next 5 years. Note: The wines marked “(DFP)” are produced by Jacques Seysses and his son Jeremy’s new negociant firm, Dujac Fils et Pere. Importer: Wilson-Daniels, St. Helena, CA; tel. (707) 963-9661

Bright, full red-ruby. Reticent nose hints at black raspberry and tar. Then firm and precise, with musky flavors of raspberry and minerals. In a leaner, drier style than the Gevrey and Morey cuvees but long and sweet on the back.

Mid-crimson. Heady, sumptuous nose. Very correct. Really rich and full of fruit and charm. Almost rudely healthy. (JR)
