Cigar box, bilberry, blackberry, black cherries, cocoa bean, crushed mint, with tannins that are still confidently holding the fruit in place. A gorgeous wine, one to share. Owner Edouard Miaihle, Hubert de Boüard consultant. First year with Marjolaine Defrance as cellar master (promoted to technical director as of the 2022 vintage). Harvest September 26 to October 20, 35% new oak for ageing.

A structured vintage where the amount of Cabernet Sauvignon rises back up after 2015. Dark plum in colour, full of depth with the kick of eucalyptus mint freshness on the finish that gives a cushion of acidity and air, and is a regular signature of Siran, particularly with the Cabernet Franc added from this year. Smoked earth also, good quality, still young but ready to begin drinking, less closed down than some other Margaux 2016s at this point. First year with Marjolaine Defrance as cellar master (promoted to technical director as of the 2022 vintage). Harvest September 26 to October 20, 35% new oak for ageing.
