Losing fruit already. Serviceable but not excitement at all. Quite dry tannins. (JR)

Not a top-notch effort, Langoa Barton's medium ruby-colored 1997 exhibits sweet, herb-tinged, berry, and currant aromas, spicy, cedary, medium-bodied flavors, low acidity, and a pleasant but undistinguished finish. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.

Rather tough, but there's good berry and currant character. Medium-bodied, with silky tannins and a light, slightly dry finish. Best after 2000. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2000
