There are some hints of brick at the rim. The nose is opulent and typically 1990 in that exotic, ultra-ripe way. On the palate spicy, ready (?) tannins are very ripe. This is a sophisticated salon sort of wine rather than a country bumpkin more Médoc than Châteauneuf. Definitely good for drinking now, without the power or length of some vintages but very charming. Very slightly tame compared with the best of the rest. A touch muted and almost well behaved. (JR)
