The 2007 Filhot is no better than the bottle tasted in 2018, rather monotone on the nose. It has a light, slightly bitter palate. Short on the finish. Drink up. Tasted at the 2007 horizontal in Sauternes.

The 2007 Filhot seems a little lackluster on the nose given the vintage, rather flat compared to the 2001 Filhot and even the 2003. The palate is slightly better with marmalade, vanilla and almond, almost excessively sweet in the mouth with brown sugar and light toffee apple notes towards the finish. Sadly, this is not my favourite Sauternes this vintage. Tasted at the vertical tasting at Château Filhot.
This has a simple, rather commercial pineapple scented bouquet with moderate definition, but certainly lacking some complexity. The palate is medium-bodied with good acidity, but lacking the requisite complexity and concentration on the finish commensurate with the 2007 vintage. Not a terrible Sauternes by any means, but I suspect the 2007 is below what this estate could achieve. Drink now.
