The 2009 Lynch-Moussas has a fleshy ripe, mulberry and cedar scented bouquet with hints of tobacco and pencil box developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite cohesive and focused with good depth, fresh and lithe towards the classic cedar and graphite finish. This is an excellent showing for an underrated Pauillac. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 2009 Bordeaux tasting.
For a "lesser" Pauillac this is a really attractive wine with plenty of ripe cassis, supple tannins and a nice fleshy finish. Drink or hold. (Horizontal Tasting, London, 2019)
About the producer
This Fifth Growth Pauillac estate was purchased by the Castéja family – owners of Ch. Batailley – in 1919. In recent years they have been investing in the property, focused on driving quality forward.
