Heady nose. Pretty firm and structured but not painful, just ambitious. Pretty impressive for a village wine. (JR)

The 2015 Vosne-Romanée Village, which apparently finished its malolactic quite late, has a clean, slightly conservative bouquet with tightly wound red cherry and crushed strawberry aromas, a subtle tinned peach note in the background. The palate is well balanced and boasts a commendable sense of energy. It feels a little angular at the moment, but there is density and weight on the finish married with satisfying tension.

Bright ruby-red. A touch of reduction but also lovely violet lift to the aromas of blackberry, black cherry and spices. The sweetest and supplest wine yet to this point, with intriguing saline minerality adding interest to the black fruit and spice flavors. Seriously rich, dry, densely packed village wine with terrific mineral extension on the finish. These vines were picked at the end, noted Méo.
