Score 89/100 · Drink 2019-2024, Jeb Dunnuck, Feb 2019

Mostly Merlot with small amounts of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2008 Château Puygueraud is solid stuff, offering lots limestone-like minerality, notes of mature fruits, chocolate, and leafy herbs, medium body, and elegant, polished tannins. It’s fully mature and drinking great today and should keep for another 5-7 years or so. It’s an impressive wine from the Francs region of Bordeaux.

Lots of development and plumpness. Real chew. Life and distinctly superior to many a wine selling at this price. What a treat to have this amount of maturity at this price. Vigorous attack. VGV (JR)

This straightforward, pleasant wine offers sweet black cherry fruit intermixed with hints of licorice and herbs. Consume this easy-going effort over the next 2-3 years.
