The 2005 Meursault Les Chevaliers 1er Cru, the Domaine's most elusive bottling, given its limited production, is astonishing. It delivers laser-like precision on the nose, as if someone dunked their hand into a flowing Alpine stream, removed a large stone, and crushed it with their bare hands. The palate displays exquisite balance. There's real tangy saltiness here, supreme weight and penetration with a long, sustained finish. It's an uncompromising bravura of a Meursault in all its unfettered glory. Tasted at the Meursault dinner in Hong Kong.
