The 2022 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru has meliorated on the nose since I tasted it from barrel. It has more intensity and complexity, with touches of peach skin and light oily scents. Fine delineation. The palate is very well balanced with a taut line of acidity, and a little more extract than the Fôret. It develops more weight towards the finish, though maybe the Fôret has a little more charm. Still, this is a fine Montmains that is improving year by year.

The 2022 Chablis 1er Cru Montmains wafts from the glass with aromas of crisp green apple, oyster shell and white flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and suave palate that's deep and concentrated, animated by racy acids and concluding with chalky grip.
