This bottling—a tribute to Brother Roger of Château de Manissy, who played a pivotal role in Eric Pfifferling’s formative years—is always the most impressive of the range, and the 2023 Vintage is no exception. It bursts from the glass with a strikingly perfumed bouquet of peonies, blood orange, lime, exotic fruits and wild raspberries, mingled with subtle notes of smoke and fresh mint. Medium- to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, it offers a layered, saline palate with terrific depth, precision and a gentle phenolic grip. The finish is long, mouthwatering and finely bitter, lending the wine a savory edge that enhances its gastronomic potential. This is undoubtedly one of the most compelling and refined rosés produced in France today.

Will be released in three years. Intense palate with firmness, spice and concentration. There is real intensity here and weight – a long and rich mid palate. Some spiced notes, red fruits and then there is a mouth-coating density and core of fruit. Texturally, this is sublime. An earthy, nutty note on the mid palate and then a long, tense, tight finish with a really ethereal character. (AC)
