Moderately saturated bright red. Pretty, high-pitched aromas and flavors of red raspberry, cherry, rose petal and spices. Silky-sweet and juicy, combining the fleshiness of the vintage with lovely vinosity. Saline and mineral hints contribute to the impression of freshness. Not the last word in complexity but the wine's sweet tannins won't get in the way of enjoying it right now.

(80-year-old vines on calcaire-rich soil) Bright red. Raspberry and flinty minerality on the nose. Ripe and thick on entry, then more sharply delineated and energetic in the middle than the Hauts de Beaux Monts, with complicating saline and flinty nuances. A less easygoing style, building in power on the back end. This soil-driven wine will require some bottle aging.
