Score 94-96/100 · Drink 2030-2045, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Nov 2025

The 2023 Spätburgunder Hundsrück GG is even fresher than the Centgrafenberg and seems to be purer, more fragrant and aromatic on the detailed and energetic nose that reveals dark fruit aromas along with earthy and toasty nuances. Silky, round and generous on the palate and provided with very fine tannins, this is a full-bodied, intense and sweet, wonderfully juicy, seamlessly textured yet tightly structured Pinot with savoriness and salinity on the extraordinary long, dense, tight and complex, very promising finish. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in December 2025.

Fermented with 100% whole clusters, aged in barriques with around 60% new oak. A complex perfume – wet stone, black tea, mint and a savoury stem influence – opens into a quiet universe of damson plum and cassis. This is a wine of cool power and spicy shadows, a galaxy of complex constellations waiting to be discovered. The purity and precision are framed by firm, elegant tannins. A brilliant future is evident, but for now, its story is one of immense, untouchable potential. (PS)
