Cask sample. Light to mid crimson. Intoxicating sweetness of cherries in alcohol though of course not that alcoholic. A fine contrast of savoury-sweet with a light herbal note adding freshness. Complex, layered and elegant. (JH)

The 2023 Richebourg Grand Cru is vinified with 30% whole cluster and the rest destemmed by hand, raised in 80% in new oak. It has a rather conservative bouquet of mainly black fruit, brown leaves and light graphite scents. The 2023 doesn't quite engage like others. The palate is medium-bodied and well balanced with grainy tannins and fine acidity, but it needs more body and grip toward the finish.
