The 2020 Cap St George offers up aromas of dark berries and petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy, youthfully structured palate. It remains a touch chunky, but proprietor Jean-Philippe Janoueix is moving toward a less extracted style to promising effect.

This has gourmet layering, enjoyable with precisely sculpted red chrry and raspberry fruits, saffron and salinity on the finish. One to look out for, good stuff from Jean-Philippe Janoueix. 19ha of vines.

A blend of 84% Merlot and 8% each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc that’s still resting in 50% new barrels, the 2020 Château Cap Saint George offers ample juicy red and blue fruits as well as a touch of chalky minerality in its medium-bodied, pure, nicely balanced style. It will keep for at least 10-12 years.
