Like Corino's other Barolo wines, Arborina is aged in French oak for two years. In this case, the wine is expressive and broad with an open and genuine quality that distinguishes it from its peers. Mid to dark crimson. Heady and sweet on palate entry with a hint of something animal. Bone-dry finish and the whole is rather admirably uncompromising. Lots of energy and potential. (JR)

Dark red cherries, mint, hard candy and wild flowers meld together in the 2011 Barolo Arborina. This is an especially ample, textured Barolo from Arborina with more than enough fruit to nearly cover the firm Arborina tannins that lurk beneath. The 2011 needs time to fully come together.
