2010 Te Mata Estate Cabernet/Merlot Coleraine

An excellent vintage of Coleraine, now into maturity (but still having plenty of life ahead of it), the 2010 Coleraine is a blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Franc. There's an earthy, grilled-meat edge to the nose, but the medium to full-bodied palate is richly fruited and velvety in texture, with hints of brown sugar and dried spices framing dense cassis fruit. Long and still dusty on the finish, this is delicious now and should last through 2030.
