The 2014 Beau-Sejour Becot is medium to deep garnet-brick in color. There a slight oxidized note on the nose, leading to otherwise appealing hints of dried plums and figs followed by hints of Indian spices and unsmoked cigars. The medium-bodied palate is chewy and a tad rugged with a firm finish.

The 2014 Beau-Séjour Bécot has a commendable bouquet with brambly red fruit, damp loam, tobacco and pressed rose petal scents. It takes a bit of coaxing, but it reveals fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with smooth tannins and fleshy, fine delineation. It lacks complexity and personality, so the finish feels monotone and doesn't tempt you back for more. This tasted much better in 2018, so I speculate there is some deterioration in the intervening period? Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting.

Tasted blind. Youthful colour but quite evolved in aroma. Sweet dried red fruits. A little bit lean in the middle but just about in balance and finishes fresh.
