The 2019 Le Boscq has an understated bouquet with blackberry and light bilberry scents, nicely defined with well-integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied with brambly red fruit, grainy in texture, attenuating slightly towards the finish. Probably earlier-drinking than its peers. I suspect this might be closing down as it is well under my evaluation post-bottling. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.

Tasted blind. A mix of ripe fruit and sharpness – picked at two different times? Fairly simple, with all the appeal on the nose, and the palate a little lacking in fruit concentration, but certainly better than many vintages! Tannins on the end. (JR)

Plenty of classy damp earth and leafy herb notes as well as ripe plum and currant fruits emerge from the 2019 Château Le Boscq, a rich, nicely balanced, medium to full-bodied Saint-Estèphe. It's a solid, outstanding, moderately tannic wine that will benefit from just short-term cellaring and have two decades or more of longevity.

The 2019 le Boscq exhibits rich aromas of cassis, cherries, tobacco leaf and underbrush, followed by a medium-bodied palate with creditable depth of fruit, lively acids and ripe but youthfully chewy tannins. It appears to possess some of the most aging potential of the various Dourthe wines.
