Very dark crimson. Rather sharp and New Worldy. Some almost raw red fruits on the nose. Hint of bitter coffee. Finishes very suddenly. (JR)

84% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc. Second wine. Made in almost the same way as the Grand Vin but from the lower, flatter vineyards. Sweet and very rich and even a bit 2003-like! So ripe!!! Very luscious. (JR)
Probably the finest second wine to emerge from Nenin, the 2008 Fugue de Nenin possesses black cherry and plum-like fruit, hints of earth and underbrush, a lush, succulent texture, and sweet tannin. It should drink nicely for a decade.
