Dark, rich and spicy aroma. Creamy vanilla sweetness. Rich and juicy and still fresh. Deep, thick but velvety tannins. Bags of flavour but not much finesse and slightly hard finish. Freshness on the very end. (JH)

One of the super classics of the vintage, the 2011 Peby Faugeres (100% Merlot) exhibits a dense blue/purple color as well as gorgeous aromas of acacia flowers, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. This full-bodied, concentrated wine has more in common with a 2009 or 2010 than most 2011s. The extravagant fruit character nearly conceals some sweet tannin in this masterpiece. Drink it over the next two decades or more.
Dark black cherry colour. Very floral, combined with some oak char. Rich and chewy. Plenty of ripe fruit though the tannins and acidity are a bit aggressive. (JH)
Very chewy with loads of ripe fruit and a wet earth and blackberry character. Dark chocolate too. Full and rich. Juicy. Rich depth of fruit. Pure Merlot as always. jamessuckling.com
