The 1965 Suduiraut disproves the theory that no drinkable wines were made in Bordeaux in this awful growing season. The bouquet reveals simple but unobjectionable scents of toffee apple and dandelion, whilst the palate is light and remarkable, showing no signs of grey rot. In fact, the presence and substance is quite impressive even without taking into account the growing season. Who knew? Served blind at the château.

Among the very best Sauternes estates, Ch. Suduiraut is owned by AXA Millésimes, which also manages Pichon Baron. The team works meticulously to select the finest fruit from its 91 hectares of vines, bordering Yquem. The resulting wines are intensely concentrated, balanced, complex and age-worthy.
