Medium red. Musky red berries, minerals, coffee and smoky oak on the complex, soil-driven nose. At once seamless and energetic, with a light touch to the sweet redcurrant and spice flavors. Brisk acidity gives this a penetrating character. Impressively long, structured village wine.

Four parcels, not the best placed – just below La Colombière by Anne Gros’ cuverie. Lots of beguiling fruit here. Good flesh and structure. So easy to like even if not the purest. (JR)
