Fresh and fragrant – pencil lead and fresh black fruit. Smooth and very accomplished. The start of savoury development, smooth sweet rounded tannins and just the right amount of freshness to draw out the length. (JH)
This lighter-styled, but complex, finely tuned effort reveals notes of cedar, dried herbs, spice, smoke, sweet cherry and currant fruit, and subtle new oak. With medium body as well as broad, savory, silky, lush flavors, it will drink well for 12-14 years. This is an impressive vineyard that is on an upsurge in quality.
Dark colour but very loose on the palate. Needs more concentration on the mid palate. Just rather sandy tannins on the finish and not much beforehand. (JR)
About the producer
Ch. l’Arrosée was a 9.5-hectare vineyard in Saint-Emilion. After the château was sold to Domaine Clarence Dillon (owners of Ch. Haut-Brion and Ch. la Mission Haut-Brion) in 2013, the wine was discontinued and the grapes are now used for Ch. Quintus.
