Dense ruby/purple, with appealing blackcurrant fruit, this 2005, from a routinely well-run property of the Lapalu family, exhibits surprising density, and in fact over-performs for its cru bourgeois status. This medium-bodied sleeper of the vintage will continue to improve over the next 5-7 years.

Sweet fruit with good fresh attack. Well-judged tannins for the fruit. Very brisk and clean on the finish. Not heavy but classic. (JR)
