The 2009 Beaune Les Cent Vignes opens with a burst of dark red fruit. The intensity of the fruit drops off a touch on the mid-palate and finish, but this is still a tasty wine that is best appreciated for its flashy, up-front fruit. According to Francois Bitouzet, Les Cent Vignes is a very sensitive parcel where the final phase of ripening can occur quickly. Bitouzet was forced to replant 1/3rd of the vineyard following the devastating December 2009 frost.
