Medium-bodied and loaded with sweet blackberries and licorice, this is a dense, round, satin-textured wine. Its lush, super-ripe personality engulfs its copious, supple tannin. Saturated ruby-red. Creamy-sweet aromas of black raspberry and licorice. Fat, rich and deep; a seriously thick Volnay with lots of stuffing to buffer its tannins. Finishes long and subtle. No new oak was used for this cuvee, but here I didn't find myself missing new wood.
