Cool, green fruit initial impression followed by attention-grabbing roundness. Hot, almost painful. Very jagged and unknit now. This needs time. Made from the old Baron Thénard vines. (JR)

Toasted minerals, crisp pears, and apples can be found in this outstanding wine's dense, silky-textured, medium body. Aromas of mirabelle, spiced apple, iodine and menthol. Fat, rich and very concentrated; superripe, large-scaled and quite dry. Offers a wonderfully chewy texture and an impression of moderate acidity. Very long on the finish. Still, this is less subtle than the Chevalier-Montrachet, and is not yet showing that wine detail.
