Score 89/100 · Drink 2022-2030, Neal Martin, Sep 2022

The 1992 Giscours shows modest bricking on the rim. You know, the nose has held up well, quite attractive with vestiges of red fruit, balsamic and fresh mint, more vigorous than you would expect. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly rustic tannins, quite savoury in taste and maybe a little smudged and dry on the meaty, animally finish. But overall, this is not a bad showing in context of its age and vintage reputation.

The 1992 Giscours is noteworthy for its saturated dark ruby/purple color, big, plummy, licorice, Asian spice-scented nose, round, concentrated, chewy flavors, medium body, and heady, alcoholic finish. It is a plump rich, concentrated wine for a 1992. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.
