Score 90/100 · Drink 2006, Pierre Rovani, Oct 1999

The medium-to-dark ruby colored 1997 Romanee-St.-Vivant reveals floral, mocha-covered red and black fruit aromas. This medium-to-full-bodied, thickly-textured wine is dense, feminine, and packed with chocolate as well as red cherries. It is soft, refined, opulent, and possesses a long, somewhat chalky finish (this characteristic prevented a higher score). Drink it over the next 7 years. Louis Latour has a different importer in each state.
