Bright, full ruby-red. Liqueur-like cassis and cough medicine aromas lifted by a floral component; slightly porty. Then ripe, fat and exotic in the mouth, with slightly high-toned black cherry and cassis flavors. An outsized wine with serious building tannins. Still, I'd enjoy it over the next six to eight years before the fruit begins to fade.

Showing far superior from bottle than it did from barrel, the proprietor (the same as the famous military and corporate jet manufacturer) has turned out a sexy, opulent, fruit-laden wine with an abundance of black cherries, black currants, spring flowers and some background earth and licorice. This is a lusty, flamboyant and extroverted style of wine to drink over the next 10-15 years.
Spiced peppery cassis. Rather light on the mid palate. Strange, thick tannins but overall rather lacking flesh in the middle. (JH)
