The 2004 Sigalas Rabaud has a light and airy bouquet with Clementine, pear and lanolin scents, though it never quite clicks into fifth gear. The palate is taut on the entry with commendable weight. It shows good mid-palate depth, tangy orange rind and marmalade notes. A slight dryness towards the finish suggests it should be drunk soon. Tasted at the Sigalas Rabaud vertical at the winery.

The 2004 Sigalas-Rabaud has a straightforward bouquet with hints of gingerbread and spice; the nose politely refuses to get out of second gear. The palate is nicely balanced with a fine line of acidity, although it seems rather conservative and needs more botrytis on the finish. Previous examples of the Sigalas-Rabaud have shown better than this, so I will seek to re-evaluate at a later point. Drink now-2020. Tasted February 2014.
