Mid ruby crimson with a little bit of evolution on the rim. Some attractive tertiary aromas with slight soapiness. The tannins are still much in evidence and I suspect they won’t dissipate much before the fruit does, so I’d drink this now with chewy food. Lots of vigour and attack here. (JR)

This wine offers sweet black currant fruit intertwined with smoke, herbs, and new oak. Medium-bodied, with good extract, moderate depth and tannin, and a ripe finish, it will drink well between 2002-2015. It is a good, middle-weight Margaux.
