Clair's 2007 Vosne-Romanée Aux Champs Perdrix is drinking beautifully today, offering up attractive aromas of sweet red berry fruit, potpourri, spices and orange rind, followed by a medium-bodied, fleshy and attractively layered, supple palate that shows good depth for the vintage.

Medium red. Expressive, full-blown nose offers dark berries, spices, flowers and smoky minerality. Supple but not overly sweet, with good mid-palate lift but limited complexity. The slightly tight finish suggests this will need a couple years to express itself.
Full and round and very fruity even if a bit coarse. Hard work. Rude tannins. (JR)
Good dark red. Aromas of blackberry, violet and licorice. Supple black fruit flavors offers good volume and breadth without undue weight. Finishes with sweet tannins and bright acidity. (The Chambolle villages rated 85-87, while the Morey-Saint-Denis lacked focus and seemed tired. The Gevrey-Chambertin was a bit rustic and dry.)
