This deep ruby/purple-hued sleeper of the vintage reveals aromas of camphor, black currants, licorice, and dried herbs. Concentrated, with moderate tannin as well as sweet, pure fruit, it should age nicely for 10-15+ years.
First vintage with Denis Dubourdieu consulting. Quite rich, fully ripe nose. This shows very well for a relatively humble '04. Lovely mouthful of fruit with good ripe tannins underneath. (JR)
Medium ruby-red. Kirsch and dark berries on the fruit-driven nose, along with a suggestion of superripeness. Lush in texture but quite dry, with lively flavors of blackberry, bitter chocolate and licorice. Finishes with dusty, fine tannins but also a hint of rawness.
About the producer
In the south of Margaux, this property has 36 hectares of vines. There’s an unusually large proportion of Petit Verdot (13%) in the vineyard, something which the team feels adds finesse, concentration and a spicy finish to the wine.
