Musky, reserved nose hints at pineapple, lemon and white flowers. Dense, ripe and juicy, with a finer-grained texture than the preceding premier crus. Rich, fat, pineappley wine with a slowly mounting, building aftertaste. Showing well today, but I'd wait a couple years for more complexity.

The 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot is one of the most closed and reticent wines in this range from Bruno Colin. Saline infused mineral notes provide the framework for the 2011 as it opens up in the glass. Today the 2011 doesn't seem ready to show the full breadth of its potential. The style is a bit burly and muscular. It will be interesting to see how things develop here.
Hint of almonds and blossom. Fine and chewy and quite reserved but convincing. (JR)
Pale green-yellow color. Pure aromas of lime, grapefruit, anise and white flowers. Juicy, dry and stony, conveying a chewy impression of extract. Excellent cut to the grapefruit and mineral flavors. Finishes with very good length.
