Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London.The 2006 Château Belgrave has a simple, clean dark berry and black tea-scented nose that would benefit from more vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, clean and quite attractive blackberry and raspberry coulis towards the finish with respectable definition and length. Ten years on, this Belgrave has no problem doling out drinking pleasure and it is certainly worth picking up if you chance upon any bottles. Tasted January 2016.
Mid blackish ruby. High-toned and easy with everything already evolved. No socks knocked off and slightly dusty tannins but no shocks. (JR)
Very dark purplish crimson. Malty nose with some mid sweetness about it. Not the most exciting wine but competently made in dry claret idiom. Very clean. Should drink reasonably for longer than most. (JR)
