(bottled in March of '09) Good medium red. Cherry, redcurrant and smoky minerality on the nose. More primary and more structured than the village wine, and a step up in concentration. This has lovely freshness of dark fruit flavor and penetrating but harmonious acidity. Finishes long, with nicely buffered tannins.

**Note: from 60+ year old vines** A hint of wood influence frames exuberantly spicy and ripe red and black pinot fruit aromas that complement the extremely rich, round, earthy and mouth coating flavors brimming with dry extract that buffers the firm tannic spine. This is a sleekly muscled wine with good power and fine length.
Good medium red-ruby. Black fruits and dark chocolate on the nose, carrying a heavy load of smoky, bacony oak. Then supple and generous in the mouth, with plenty of fruit to support its smoke element. This dense and very young wine finishes with good minerality and a repeating element of oaky torrefaction.
This comes from Haut Brûlées apparently, right next to Mme Leroy's Premier cru, I was told. Just below. Very, very dark. Great zesty, lively nose. Real race. I can certainly see a hint of Leroy's Vosne Romanée here. Racy and lively – very good breed. Great finesse and vitality. Tonic. Really exciting. (JR)
