Probably the best d’Agassac I have tasted, this sleeper of the vintage exhibits excellent concentration, texture and length. Loads of cassis and floral notes along with sweet tannin and low acidity characterize this blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 48% Merlot. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot. Deeply coloured. Rich and almost meaty on the nose but there's oak sweetness too. Some mocha on the mid palate, a little lighter than I expected from the nose – though it's more structured than light, so the richness is less evident. Good chew at the end. Should age well. (JH)

Lively crimson. Fresh, direct fruit on the nose. A teensy bit raw with a hint of sawdust but a bit of green on the finish. (JR)
