The sweet mineral, flower, and white fruit-scented 2003 Chassagne-Montrachet La Maltroie (white) is easygoing, silky-textured, and light to medium-bodied. This pear and apple-dominated wine displays appealing freshness. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.

Lighter, brighter color. More delicate, reserved aromas of flowers, smoke and pit fruits. Less flaccid on the palate, with more minerally flavors of yellow fruits and banana. From deeper soil that may have suffered less from drought.
