(13.9% alcohol): Bright dark ruby. Very ripe aromas and flavors of dark berries, cocoa powder and bitter chocolate. Fine-grained and light on its feet, with the exotic oak character typical of Silver Oak nicely supported by its intense fruit. Harmonious acidity and a slightly herbal quality contribute to the suavity of this wine. Expands nicely on the back half, with the fine-grained tannins coating the palate. An excellent vintage for this bottling: not a heavyweight but balanced and alive.

Bright dark red. Complex, lively aromas of cherry, licorice, chocolate, tobacco leaf and spices. A juicy, spicy midweight with excellent tension and finesse to its youthfully imploded fruit, spice and chocolatey oak flavors. A very successful offering from Silver Oak, finishing with substantial dusty tannins, noteworthy length and a light touch. Aged for a full two years in 100% new American oak, but the oak element is not at all overbearing.
